Be My Valentine Everyday!

The phrase for the week is "Make Someone’s Day” Thursday is St. Valentine's Day!  Actually, the entire month is devoted to romance.  Make someone's day this week! Act surprised, even if you aren't--make someone's day! Spend the week performing random acts of kindness.   Researchers found that when you do something nice for someone, everyone wins. You feel amazing and you share joy to someone dear or a total stranger.    Just performing an act of kindness at least once a week leads to happiness. The acts can be as simple as holding the door for someone, complimenting an outfit or paying for lunch.   According to Dr. David R. Hamilton, acts of kindness create an emotional warmth, which releases the heart-protecting hormone oxytocin. So protect your heart and make someone’s day! I perform random acts of kindness all week. Start a Movement with Tight Hugs!

The phrase for the week is "Tight Hugs." Oxytocin, not to be confused with the drug Oxycontin, acts both as a hormone and as a brain neurotransmitter that makes you feel fabulous. It is a feel-good hormone that increases your overall happiness. When you cuddle or hug, oxytocin is released. According to a 2004 study from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, physical contact with loved ones can lead to reduced heart rates, reduced blood pressure, reduced stress, improved healing, reduced cravings, and boosted immunity.   Is it lost on anyone that this doesn’t cost a dime!?! It is also noted that physical contact with a person you love causes your body to release dopamine, a hormone that increases your sexual desire--that’s another book (smiles)… Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! I will wrap my arms around a loved one three times a day this week--a real tight bear hug. Share your thoughts and progress: https://www.facebook.com/ASte...
